III Software supports Sender Policy Framework (SPF).
In the interest of being a good net citizen, III Software has implemented Sender Policy Framework (SPF) for all of our mail servers.
SPF is an attempt to validate that an email was authorized to be sent from the domain it claims in the message header. The goal of SPF is to stop the forgery of email domains.
A majority of spam attempts to hide its origin, such that it looks like a reputable source has sent the email. SPF allows many mail servers to determine if an email actually originated from the address the message claims. Just this simple test can quickly and effectively identify spam messages with little or no chance of an accidental false-positive.
Many internet service providers (ISPs) have announced plans to implement SPF, AOL being the most notable. By supporting SPF, we are doing our part to make a stand against spam. For those mail servers that require SPF, we are giving our messages a better chance of reaching their destination.
To learn more about SPF, The SPF Project has an excellent SPF explanation.
